Three ways to work together
The work is always shaped around your goals. Where we begin depends on what you’re navigating and whether you – or your organization – is investing in the coaching.
For leaders & founders
Private Leadership Coaching
Lead with confidence and intention, stay grounded under pressure, and become a leader others trust and respect in order to maximize your impact.
For turning points
Transition Coaching
Get clear on what you want next, trust yourself enough to move toward it, and create a path that feels meaningful, energizing, and true to who you are.
For organizations
Executive Coaching
Develop leaders who can take on greater complexity, lead people through change, and make the kind of decisions that build trust and move the organization forward.
why work with a coach?
Your leadership has a ripple effect
You already know how to work hard, solve problems, and get things done. As your responsibility and influence grow, how you lead affects more than your own performance.
The way you make decisions, respond under pressure, handle conflict, and communicate shapes the confidence, trust, and performance of the people around you.
Coaching gives you space to step back, understand the ripple you’re creating, and become more intentional about the kind of impact you want to have.
how coaching works
What happens in a coaching session
Coaching creates space outside the day-to-day to grow your self-awareness, challenge old patterns, and intentionally develop your leadership capacity the next chapter requires.
What you can expect
- Honest conversation and thoughtful challenge
- Space to think without needing to have everything figured out
- Questions and observations that reveal patterns and blind spots
- New perspectives and possibilities
- Support turning insight into meaningful action
What you won’t get
- A prescribed formula for how to suceed
- Someone telling you what decisions to make
- Generic advice based on what worked for someone else
- Pressure to pursue goals that don’t feel right to you
The whole person approach
How you live shapes how you lead
Work is only one part of the picture. Your health, relationships, priorities, values, and sense of purpose all affect how you show up. That’s why we make space for the rest of your life, not just the challenges that come with your job.

We’ll talk about what you want to develop, where you want to go, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
Define the focus
We’ll identify the bigger goal for the engagement and what may be getting in the way. From there, each session focuses on current challenges, decisions, or opportunities that are coming up for you in that moment.
Put it into practice
Between sessions, you’ll experiment with new approaches and notice what changes. Over time, the goal is to strengthen how you approach the challenges, decisions, and opportunities that shape your life.

Hi, I’m Kristen bor
15 years of leadership across government, nonprofit, and entrepreneurship.
My career has taken me from Capitol Hill and mission-driven nonprofit work to building and leading my own company. Across each chapter, I’ve worked in environments where the stakes were real, priorities competed, and good leadership mattered.
For more than a decade, I built Bearfoot Theory from a personal blog into a business with a team, major brand partnerships, millions of readers, and large-scale events. Along the way, I learned firsthand how to lead people, make difficult decisions, navigate uncertainty, and keep growing as the demands of the role changed.
Today, I bring that experience to my coaching alongside rigorous training through the Hudson Institute of Coaching, where I’m completing an ICF-accredited certification grounded in adult development and lasting behavioral change.
the role of nature
Step outside the noise. See more clearly.
After more than a decade building a career around the outdoors, I’ve seen firsthand how stepping outside can change the way we think, create, and make decisions.
Some of my best ideas have come to me away from a desk, while walking down a trail.
That experience is part of the philosophy behind Silent Trees, and research supports it too: time in nature can help restore attention, reduce mental fatigue, and support more flexible, creative thinking.
Growth doesn’t always come from pushing harder, working longer, or doing more research. Sometimes it comes from giving your mind room to wander and new ideas to emerge.
Nature isn’t a requirement for coaching, but if getting outside helps you think, reflect, or reconnect with what matters, we can make it part of the process.
Good to know
Questions people usually ask
What actually happens in a session?
We’ll begin by defining what would make the session valuable to you. From there, I’ll ask focused questions, share observations, and help you examine what may be operating beneath the surface.
A session may create a fundamental shift in how you see yourself, your leadership, or the situation in front of you. That new perspective can unlock a decision, a concrete action, or a different way of responding — one that continues to shape what you do long after the conversation ends.
How are sessions conducted?
Sessions take place over Zoom and last 60 minutes. Most clients meet with me every other week, allowing time between sessions to reflect, apply new insights, and notice what is changing. We can determine what cadence is appropriate after our first meeting.
I’m based in Park City, Utah and also offer in-person sessions. We’ll begin in a quiet, private setting where we can focus without distractions. As our work develops, outdoor sessions may also be an option when that feels supportive of your goals.
How long do clients typically work with me?
Meaningful development takes time. Coaching engagements typically span 6–12 sessions, giving us space to address immediate challenges while supporting deeper self-development and long-term change.
The exact length depends on your goals and what emerges through the work, which we’ll discuss during your introductory call.
Do I need to be outdoorsy?
Not at all. Nature is part of the philosophy behind Silent Trees, but it isn’t a requirement or a prescribed part of coaching. Our work is always guided by your goals. Time outside may become part of the process when it feels relevant to you — or it may not come into the work at all.
How do I know whether coaching is right for me?
Coaching may be a good fit when you’re ready to examine your thinking, consider new perspectives, and take responsibility for the changes you want to create. The introductory call gives us a chance to discuss what you’re navigating and whether coaching — and working together — feels like the right support.
Coaching may not be the right fit if you’re looking for someone to give you answers, prescribe a step-by-step plan, or make decisions for you.
How much does coaching cost?
Because every coaching engagement is a little different, I don’t use a one-size-fits-all package. During our introductory call, we’ll talk about what you’re working through, how many sessions may be helpful, and the total investment.
